Senior Scientist, Statistical Consultant


  • Apply advanced statistical techniques to identify patterns and generate insights in various state-of-the-art super-alloy systems and coatings. 

  • Design, develop, and evaluate experimental models to optimize success in multifactorial experiments. 

  • Provide guidance and support to Advanced Research Engineers on multifactorial design, statistical analysis, and modeling. 

  • Collaborate closely with the company's team of scientists and technologists, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).  

  • Perform advanced analysis on real-world and laboratory data to design new experiments and enhance existing methods. 

  • Utilize statistical software. 


Minimum Requirements: 

  • Maxterial seeks an experienced part-time, on-demand Statistics Consultant with the following qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise and skills in advanced statistical theory and application, particularly in multifactorial design experiments. 

  • A Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience in experiment design and statistical analysis. Preferred candidates hold a PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar field of study. 

  • Highly developed problem-solving mindset and analytical thinking skills. 

  • Strong ability to communicate abstract concepts effectively. 

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

What is a plus? 

Experience working with chemical engineers, materials scientists, or other professionals in the chemical industry is desirable. 


Job Type: 

  • Work will be remote via telework, and assignments will be ad-hoc, based on statistical needs throughout the company.  

  • 1099/Independent Contractor; Part-Time/Ad Hoc
